Celebrating St. Lucia: Pan-Jazz at Kennedy Center (free)
When
Tuesday, June 21, 2011
5:30 PM - 8:00 PM
Location
Kennedy Center Millennium Stage
Join the RPCV/W 50th Anniversary Social Committee in celebrating Caribbean Heritage Month on Tuesday, June 21 at the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage. We will be honoring St. Lucia, one of the first 13 Peace Corps countries, by enjoying the music of pan-jazz ensemble Ron Reid and Sunsteel. The free performance starts at 6:00pm -- we will gather under the blue and yellow St. Lucia flag in the Hall of Nations at 5:30pm. [The St. Lucia flag is located half-way down the hall in front of the escalator. When you walk in the Plaza entrance, the flag is on the right.] There will be an optional after-party following the performance. Join us for some calypso and jazz at the Kennedy Center next Tuesday! [Foggy Bottom metro (blue and orange lines), with a free shuttle to the Center every 15 minutes].
